Jeffrey M. Wilson, M.D.
Dr. Jeff Wilson grew up in York, Pennsylvania and attended the University of Delaware for his undergraduate studies, graduating Cum Laude while earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology. After finishing at Delaware he began his medical studies at Hahnemann University School of Medicine in Philadelphia and graduated with a Medical Degree in 1998. Dr. Wilson then moved to Rhode Island to begin his residency in Family Medicine at Brown University and completed his training in 2001.
In 2005 Dr. Wilson helped form Family Health and Sports Medicine. His practice philosophy is family based and preventative in nature with a tremendous focus on health and wellness, believing in the power of exercise and plant-based diets. Having been plant-based himself for many years, running previous marathons, Spartan Racesand keeping a mentality of ‘move every day’ it means he practices what he preaches. Even so, Dr. Wilson has a deep compassion for the potential barriers that people face in reaching their health goals and wants all his patients to feel comfortable, cared for andheard.
Dr. Wilson’s sports medicine background includes previous roles as the head team physician at Johnson and Wales University, faculty staff for the Brown University Sports Medicine Fellowship and routinely assisting with medical coverage at Providence College. He is also very active in expanding the strength of Family Medicine in the statehaving been an active member of Rhode Island Primary Care Physician Corporation since 2004 and serving as the President of the Board since 2020.
Dr. Wilson has lived in Cranston, RI for over 25 years with his wife, two children and the family dog. In his free time he enjoys skiing, playing music, golf, hiking and kayaking.
